Armed with a modest camera, I set out to photograph from our porch in Mystic, Connecticut, capturing light and mood as the year progressed. When the impulse struck to shoot, I stepped out onto the front porch and made an exposure. It was a modest goal, but surprised me with its impact. Seasons, weather and the cycles of plant growth all reveal themselves in simple the pleasures of looking.
